He ordered coffee, and when she brought it to him, he noticed her thumb was hooked over the edge of the cup and into the coffee. He decided not to mention it, figuring she was new on the job, and didn't know any better. When she brought his breakfast, though, she had her thumb in the scrambled eggs, too.
