WORLD NEWS: Durex launches new-shape condom with 'no odour' Lovers are being offered the first anatomically shaped condom complete with a latex odour masker. The Durex "easy-on" condoms have a "unique anatomical shape" which makes them easier to put on and provides a better feel and fit, a spokeswoman for the firm claims. The condoms are also free of any rubber smell. The company hopes the range will encourage safer sex amid warnings some sexually transmitted infections are at their highest levels since troops returned home after the Second World War. According to Durex research, one in seven people are still having unprotected sex, with young people being the greatest risk-takers - 28% of 16-20 year olds and 30% of those aged 21-24 admit they've had sex with a new partner without a condom. "These statistics show people are still complacent with their health and are putting both themselves and their partners at risk of unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections," said Sarah Rose, Durex marketing director.
