WORLD NEWS: Woman puts life savings in with clothes donation A Canadian woman has mistakenly put her life savings of $80,000 in a bundle of clothes she gave to charity. Police say the woman put the money worth almost £35,000 into a bum-bag in $1,000 bill notes. She left it in a box of clothing she placed next to a donation bin. So far police have recovered half of the cash after it was handed into them in Kelowna, British Columbia. Officers are still looking for the rest of the money, which is said to be her life savings, and say they are treating the incident as theft. Investigators said the case is unusual and added the woman didn't realise her cash was missing until about a week later. It was another week before police heard about the missing money, says the Vancouver Sun. They're asking the public to identify anyone who has attempted to make purchases with $1,000 bills during the past two weeks. Police said a teenage girl and two teenage boys may be involved. Police said they don't know what the youths reportedly bought with some of the $1,000 bills, but said the big bills should have been quite noticeable to others. "It's a rare bank that would actually carry $1,000 bills. Even if you wanted one, you would have to make special provisions to get one from a bank. I don't think you can go up to any teller and just ask for a $1,000 bill," said the RCMP.
