Yours, Jack WORLD NEWS: Woman turned 'private eye' to nab bigamist husband A double bigamist who was brought to justice when one of his "wives" turned detective has been told by a judge he had committed a heartless crime. Seven-times married Alexander Spencer, 47, appeared to be sentenced having earlier admitted two offences of bigamy, with Carole-Anne Westcott and Susan Kelvin. He ordered Spencer to carry out a two-year community rehabilitation order, with a condition that he should attend psychological therapy, and do 80 hours of community punishment. The judge told Spencer that nothing constructive would be achieved by sending him to prison. But he added: "If you come up again nothing will save you from prison. It will be a significant sentence." "You have really done it in spades," Judge Ian McIntosh told Spencer, who now works as a taxi driver and living in Pointers Close, Thamesmead, south east London. "One has got think of the impact on the victims - it really was a heartless crime." Outside Exeter Crown Court, Spencer, who is still with his second unlawful "wife" Susan Kelvin, refused to comment. Ms Westcott, 42, of St Thomas, Exeter, also refused to comment. But after the earlier hearing, when Spencer admitted the two bigamy charges, she said: "Even Henry VIII only had six wives - but at least he married one at a time.
