WORLD NEWS: Husband's newspaper ad offers wife for a boat A New Zealander has offered to swap his wife for a boat in an advert in his local paper. Andrew Gilmore put the advert in the motoring section complete with a seductive photograph of his wife Shirley. He says it was revenge for an April Fool's joke she played on him. He wrote: "English import, one Kiwi owner, high miles, bodywork a bit rough." Although he asked for a boat with an engine, the best offer he's had is a six metre boat with oars. Shirley says she wondered why men had been phoning their Dunedin home and asking about her 'high miles'. Mr Gilmore says the advert is revenge for her pretending his trail bike was stolen as part of an April Fool's joke. He told The Southland Times he was on his way home from a weekend away when she played the joke on him. Mrs Gilmore says her husband's revenge is 'hilarious'.
