Yours, Jack WORLD NEWS: Blind man charged with motoring offences in Colombia A blind man has been charged with motoring offences in Colombia after a bureaucratic mix up. Officials in Manizales charged Jesus Maria Gonzalez with driving without a licence and doing a U-turn in a prohibited zone. Mr Gonzalez says the first he heard about the case was when he was asked to pay two fines worth £60. He said he had been blind since birth and had never even considered driving a car: "How would I even start it?" he asked. Mr Gonzalez survives by selling lottery tickets and is worried his house will be at risk if the fines against him stand. But a municipal official confirmed that he is still responsible for paying the fines until the source of the mistake is cleared up. "He faces two fines, one for driving without a license and one for doing a U-turn in a prohibited zone," the official told newspaper Extra. She opened it then slammed it shut and stormed back in the house. A little later she came out and again went to the mail box, opened it and slammed it shut again.
