Police in Bakerfield, California allege they found able-bodied Shane Walton attempting to flee from them in a wheelchair after being alerted to the break-in at 2.30am on Wednesday. Walton, 25, was discovered in the prop department of the Kern County Museum dressed only in part of a turn-of -the-century costume, which he had taken. Walton had allegedly entered the museum through a window and gone on a rampage, using a hammer to cause $20,000 worth of damage to the building. When questioned by the police, he didn't give any reason for his behaviour and he did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Police allege Walton smashed windows, damaged walls and destroyed computer monitors, a picture, sewing machine, mirror and other items. Before the wedding, they went out to dinner and had a long conversation regarding how their marriage might work. They discussed finances, living arrangements and so on.
