German supermarket offers weddings for £1,500
A German supermarket chain is offering complete wedding packages to its customers for £1,500. Shoppers at Plus chain stores can buy a wedding for up to 18 guests. Company spokeswoman Nicole Dinter told the Berliner Kurier newspaper couples won't be able to get married straight away at the store. Instead, the package allows them to pick one of 100 hotels across Germany for their ceremony. A champagne reception, wedding cake, coffee, buffet food and music until 2am are also part of the package. Bridal gown, bouquets and a honeymoon trip to Venice can all be booked for an additional charge. The package also includes contingency insurance coverage in case the bride or the groom fails to show up.
