Yoga classes in prison to help mafia relax
Mafia criminals serving time in an Italian maximum security prison are being given yoga lessons to help them relax and reduce tension. Prison officials, who hope the initiative will reduce the risk of rioting, say the inmates can practise yoga for up to two hours a day. Giovanni Rizza, governor of the top security Bicocca jail at Catania on the island of Sicily, said: "'The yoga will help relax and also give the inmates a feeling of well being which is our main objective. ''During a trial period the initiative was welcomed by the inmates, especially those serving longer sentences, and we believe it will held reduce tension in the jail. ''The yoga will help reduce negative values in the prisoners and must be regarded as a positive step forward.'' Yoga teacher, Emilio Pennisi, said: ''By having the lessons the prisoners undoubtedly feel much better. ''When I first started at the prison you could really feel the tension and you can see it in their faces, but afterwards you can see they leave feeling much better and more relaxed. ''I was a little apprehensive at first about bringing my mats and music into a prison but I am a yoga teacher and am not interested in what they may have done in the their past. ''My job is to make them feel better using position, breathing and meditation.''

A 90 year old man was having his annual checkup and the doctor asked him how he was feeling.
"I've never been better!" he boasted. "I've got an eighteen year old bride who's pregnant and having my child! What do you think about that?"
The doctor considered this for a moment, then said, "Let me tell you a story. I knew a guy who was an avid hunter. He never missed a season. But one day went out in a bit of a hurry and he accidentally grabbed his umbrella instead of his gun."
The doctor continued, "So he was in the woods and suddenly a grizzly bear appeared in front of him! He raised up his umbrella, pointed it at the bear and squeezed the handle. And do you know what happened?" the doctor queried.
Dumbfounded, the old man replied "No".
The doctor continued, "The bear dropped dead in front of him!"
"That's impossible!" exclaimed the old man. "Someone else must have shot that bear."
"That's kind of what I'm getting at..." replied the doctor.
