Teens Nabbed In Alleged Hooker Kidnap Attempt
Two teenagers who were rejected by a Chelsea hooker Wednesday night were slapped with a string of charges after they allegedly tried to kidnap the streetwalker and then led police on a car chase that ended with a crash near the Tobin Bridge.
Authorities said one of the suspects, Antwan Gonsalves, 19, of Cambridge, was arraigned yesterday in Chelsea District Court while his alleged accomplice, Edwin Santiago, 19, of Chelsea, was still being sought after he fled Massachusetts General Hospital where he had been taken for treatment.
David Procopio, a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney, said the incident began about 9 p.m. Wednesday when the prostitute, a 23-year-old Dorchester woman, would not accept the teens' monetary offer for sex.
``She told the two men they looked too young and they were not going to have her services,'' said Procopio. ``It appears they wouldn't take no for an answer.''
Procopio said the suspects followed the hooker in their car and then confronted her again on Washington Avenue where they allegedly tried to drag her by the hair into the vehicle. The woman punched Santiago in the face and broke away from the men with Santiago in pursuit, Procopio said.
Chelsea patrolman Anthony Ortiz saw the foot chase and after speaking briefly to the woman, began a pursuit of the suspects' Acura, Procopio said.
The suspects allegedly drove through the Tobin tolls at a high rate of speed before taking the ramp leading to Charlestown. Ortiz and other officers were able to arrest the men at gunpoint after their car struck a jersey barrier, Procopio said. Santiago claimed he had a head injury and was strapped to a back board and taken to MGH, Procopio said. While at the hospital, Santiago freed himself and fled.
Both men are facing charges of attempted kidnapping, assault with intent to rape and solicitation of sex for pay. Gonsalves, who police said was high on pot, was additionally charged with driving under the influence of drugs and driving to endanger.

One day a woman had a 11:00am appointment at the gynecologist office and got woke out of bed around 8:30 by the phone and it was the gynecologist office saying that her appointment had been pushed up to 9:30. She goes home and later that day her daughter asks her where her washcloth is and the mother says "just get another one" the daughter says "no mom you don't understand, that is the one with my face glitter and sparkles in it".
