Speights Breweries in New Zealand took the signs down in Tauranga. The beer's branding features "southern man" and his faithful friend, a dog, who fetches his cans of beer. Father Frank Eggleton, who wanted the sign removed, said, "It's all we sought. We found the sign offensive." Speights corporate affairs manager Graham Seatter is unsure what will replace the sign. "At the end of the day, it's really important that we're in touch with the community and we don't want anything we do to be insensitive," he said.
